KABUL, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Works is currently executing 74 road construction and rehabilitation projects across the country, aiming to improve connectivity to remote communities and generate employment opportunities, the office of the deputy prime minister for economic affairs announced on Tuesday.
The projects have already generated direct and indirect employment for more than 132,000 individuals, providing a significant boost to local economies and livelihoods in a country striving to overcome prolonged economic hardship.
In a determined effort to rebuild a nation devastated by decades of conflict, the Afghan government has launched an extensive array of development and infrastructure projects since assuming power nearly five years ago. ■
