SUVA, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Fiji will see lower fuel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices from July, providing relief to households and businesses after nearly three months of consecutive price increases.

The price reductions, announced by the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC), follow a decline in international fuel prices.

FCCC Chief Executive Senikavika Jiuta said the commission had closely monitored developments in global energy markets and geopolitical tensions in the Middle East to ensure consumers benefited as international prices eased while maintaining confidence in Fiji's fuel supply.

Jiuta said the latest reductions would provide relief for households, transport operators and businesses facing higher operating costs in recent months.

However, she cautioned that global fuel markets remain volatile and could continue to fluctuate in response to geopolitical developments.
