ISLAMABAD, June 22 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Monday welcomed the progress achieved during high-level technical talks between the United States and Iran in Burgenstock, Switzerland, reaffirming Pakistan's commitment to facilitating dialogue and promoting regional peace and stability.

In a statement on his social media account, Dar said that a team from Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs will remain engaged with the parties in Burgenstock throughout the week as technical-level discussions continue.

Dar reiterated that Pakistan has consistently supported efforts aimed at resolving regional disputes through dialogue and diplomacy and will continue to play its role in promoting lasting peace and stability in the region and beyond.

The remarks came after high-level technical talks held in the Swiss resort town of Burgenstock reportedly made substantive progress toward implementing the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and advancing negotiations between the United States and Iran.
