JAKARTA, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia will start an integrated chicken processing project in six regions with initial funding of 5 trillion rupiah (around 280 million U.S. dollars), Director General of Livestock and Animal Health at the Ministry of Agriculture Agung Suganda said Friday.
The project will develop an integrated chicken processing industry in East Java, Gorontalo, Lampung, South Sulawesi, East Kalimantan, and West Nusa Tenggara.
The total investment amounts to 16.7 trillion rupiah (around 938 million dollars) through 2036, based on a feasibility study, with the initial 5 trillion rupiah phase to be disbursed gradually, the official said.
PT Berdikari, a state-owned livestock and integrated food company, has been preparing the technical and administrative requirements as an initial step before construction begins. ■
