MINSK, June 8 (Xinhua) -- China is willing to work with Belarus to strengthen communication and coordination, fully implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, and continue to deepen and solidify bilateral relations and cooperation, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng said here Monday.
Conveying warm greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Han said that under the strategic guidance of the two leaders, China-Belarus relations have developed rapidly, reaching the high level of an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership.
He said that both sides should uphold the leading role of head-of-state diplomacy, promote closer high-level exchanges, and ensure that China-Belarus relations continue to develop in the right direction against the backdrop of a complex international situation.
Stressing the need to carry forward the fine tradition of mutual support, Han said that China supports Belarus in pursuing a development path suited to its national conditions and is willing to work with Belarus to implement the four major global initiatives and safeguard the common interests of developing countries.
The two sides should strengthen the alignment of development strategies, deepen cooperation in traditional fields, explore new avenues for win-win development, and solidify the public support foundation for friendly relations between the two countries, Han said.
Asking Han to convey his best wishes to Xi, Lukashenko said that under Xi's strong leadership, China has successfully pursued a development path suited to its national conditions and achieved great accomplishments, which Belarus highly values.
Belarus is China's all-weather comprehensive strategic partner and a reliable good friend forever, he said, adding that over the more than 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, bilateral ties have flourished.
Lukashenko said Belarus always attaches great importance to developing relations with China, consistently upholds the one-China principle, supports the major global initiatives proposed by Xi, and looks forward to intensifying high-level exchanges with the Chinese side, enhancing mutual political trust, deepening practical cooperation, carrying forward people-to-people friendship, and further advancing bilateral ties. ■
