BEIJING, May 16 (Xinhua) -- Wei Shihao took center stage in the 12th round of the Chinese Super League, as his brace helped Chengdu Rongcheng rally to conquer Tianjin Jinmen Tiger 2-1 away.
Wang Xianjun's deflected strike gave the home side an early lead in the 9th minute, but Rongcheng drew level minutes later through Wei's follow-up.
Rongcheng turned around the game completely in the 57th minute when Wellington Silva stood up a looped pass, which kindly fell for Wei to smash in a volley.
With the win, Chengdu continued its dominance on the table with 34 points, 14 points ahead of Chongqing Tonglianglong, who lost 3-1 to Shandong Taishan.
Beijing Guoan bounced back from a frustrating 2-2 tie with Shanghai Port by hammering Qingdao Hainiu 4-2 on home turf.
The capital-based team almost got the work done in the first half as it had surged into a 3-0 lead before the break with Zhang Yuning, Yue Tze-Nam and Zhang Xizhe on target.
Cao Yongjing made it 4-0 in the 64th minute. The away side staged a late comeback with two goals, but to no avail.
Defending champion Shanghai Port continued its dismal run with a 2-2 tie with Zhejiang FC, while Shanghai Shenhua fell 1-0 to Yunnan Yukun.
Elsewhere, Qingdao West Coast eventually claimed a 3-2 victory over Dalian Yingbo after seven consecutive draws, while Henan FC edged Shenzhen Peng City 1-0, and Wuhan Three Towns shared the spoils with Liaoning Tieren 2-2. ■
