RIO DE JANEIRO, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Former Brazil head coach Dorival Junior has been appointed as the manager of Sao Paulo for a third time, the Brazilian Serie A club said on Friday.
The 64-year-old replaces Roger Machado, who was sacked after a 3-1 Copa do Brasil defeat at Juventude on Wednesday.
He agreed to a deal that runs until December and will be joined by assistants Lucas Silvestre and Pedro Sotero, read a statement on Sao Paulo's official website.
Dorival previously managed over two spells with an overall record of 42 wins, 22 draws and 28 losses.
Sao Paulo is currently fourth in Brazil's 20-team Serie A standings with 24 points from 15 games. ■
