KIEV, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine's anti-corruption authorities have notified a former head of the presidential office that he is under suspicion in a corruption investigation, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) said Monday.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and SAPO have uncovered an organized group involved in the legalization of 460 million hryvnias (around 10.47 million U.S. dollars) linked to an elite construction near Kiev, the office said in a statement on Telegram.
SAPO said urgent investigative measures are underway but did not identify the former official.
The Interfax-Ukraine news agency reported that Andriy Yermak had been named a suspect.
According to local media, Yermak, who resigned last November, declined to comment on the allegations and denied owning luxury real estate.
Commenting on the case, presidential communications adviser Dmytro Lytvyn said it was premature to draw conclusions while the investigation is ongoing. ■
