ISLAMABAD, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan on Tuesday rejected a media report alleging the presence of Iranian aircraft at Nur Khan Airbase for military purposes, calling the claims "misleading and sensationalized."

In a statement, the Foreign Office said the Iranian and U.S. aircraft arrived in Pakistan after the ceasefire and during the initial round of the Islamabad talks to transport diplomatic personnel, security teams, and administrative staff linked to the talks process.

Some aircraft and support personnel remained temporarily in Pakistan in anticipation of further engagements, the statement said.

The Foreign Office added that diplomatic exchanges had continued despite the pause in formal negotiations, including visits by the Iranian foreign minister facilitated under existing logistical arrangements.

Pakistan strongly denied suggestions that the aircraft were linked to any military contingency or preservation arrangement, describing such assertions as speculative and detached from facts.

The statement reiterated Pakistan's commitment to supporting dialogue, de-escalation, regional peace and stability.
