HANOI, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam aims to build a sustainable and comprehensive digital nation by 2035, with all transactions between citizens and government agencies to be conducted entirely in the digital environment, the Vietnam News Agency reported Tuesday.
Under a program on developing applications of population data, e-identification and authentication in support of national digital transformation, newly approved by Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung, national databases will be fully interconnected, shared and utilized to support the development of a smart government capable of making decisions based on real-time data, according to the report.
Citizens are expected to benefit from personalized, automated and convenient digital services tailored to major life events, while digital data and technologies will be applied across sectors such as health care, education, transport, agriculture and security.
Vietnam also aims to become one of the world's top 50 countries in innovation and digital transformation and a major hub for data connectivity and digital industry development in Asia, the report added. ■
