CAIRO, May 12 (Xinhua) -- The Hong Ting Forum, themed "Cairo Dialogue: Building a China-Egypt Community with a Shared Future in the New Era," was held here on Monday, bringing together guests from the governments, think tanks, academia and business communities of China and Egypt.

Ji Zhengju, vice president of the Institute of Party History and Literature of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and director of the Central Compilation and Translation Bureau, said that building a China-Egypt community with a shared future in the new era is not only a natural choice for the development of bilateral relations, but also a model practice of implementing the vision of a community with a shared future for humanity at the bilateral level.

Facing the new era, think tanks from the two countries can strengthen cooperation, deepen theoretical exchanges and communication, enhance people-to-people exchanges and mutual learning, build regular high-level dialogue platforms, and forge broader consensus among think tanks, so as to inject stronger impetus into the China-Egypt friendship, Ji said.

Zhang Yaqiang, minister of the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, said this year marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt.

"Over the past seven decades, the two countries have forged an unbreakable comprehensive strategic partnership," Zhang said. "Building a China-Egypt community with a shared future will bring the two peoples closer and enable them to work together to make greater contributions to safeguarding world peace and promoting common development."

Egyptian experts attending the forum said they looked forward to working in the same direction with China and strengthening cooperation. Ezzat Saad, director of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs, said Egypt and China share highly consistent views on international relations and support building a fair, just and inclusive multipolar world.

Bilateral relations have seen great progress in recent years, and Egypt looks forward to continuing to strengthen cooperation with China in various fields to jointly create a better future, Saad said.

Khaled Rashid, vice chairman of the Egyptian Social Democratic Party, said Egypt and China are both ancient civilizations with splendid histories and partners with shared positions, shouldering the mission of achieving their respective national rejuvenation and accelerating national development.

The two countries, through joint efforts, enhanced exchanges and win-win cooperation, can bring more certainty and positive energy to the world, Rashid said.

The forum was co-hosted by the Institute of Party History and Literature of the CPC Central Committee, Xinhua Institute, and Xinhua News Agency Middle East Regional Bureau. Since 2022, the forum's global dialogue series has been held more than 30 times in countries across Africa, Latin America and Europe, providing an important platform for exchanges among Chinese and foreign think tank experts and media professionals.
