RIYADH, May 10 (Xinhua) -- China has been drawn into Group C with Iran, Syria and Kyrgyzstan for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup at the draw ceremony on Saturday.

Based on the latest FIFA rankings as of April 1, the teams were divided into four pots of six teams each, with China placed in Pot 3.

The 2027 Asian Cup will be held from January 7 to February 5, marking the first time that Saudi Arabia hosts the tournament. It will feature six groups of four, with the top two sides from each group and the four best third-placed teams advancing to the round of 16, followed by single-leg knockout matches until the champion is crowned.

23 of the 24 participating teams have been confirmed, with the final berth to be decided between Lebanon and Yemen.

The opening match will take place at the King Fahd Sports City Stadium in Riyadh, where host Saudi Arabia faces Palestine.

Group A: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Palestine

Group B: Uzbekistan, Bahrain, DPR Korea, Jordan

Group C: Iran, Syria, Kyrgyzstan, China

Group D: Australia, Tajikistan, Iraq, Singapore

Group E: South Korea, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Lebanon/Yemen

Group F: Japan, Qatar, Thailand, Indonesia.
