SHANGHAI, May 7 (Xinhua) -- The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), EXPO 2027 Belgrade and the World Expo Museum (WEM) jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Shanghai in east China on Thursday, regarding the WEM's participation in the grand show in Serbia.
As a measure to support the building of the China-Serbia community with a shared future in the new era, China supports Serbia in hosting EXPO 2027 and will send a delegation to attend.
EXPO 2027 Belgrade will be held from May 15 to August 15, 2027, in the Serbian capital. Currently, 137 countries have confirmed their participation.
Under the MoU, the WEM will establish an independent pavilion in the Best Practice Area of the Art and Museum Section, featuring approximately 330 square meters of dedicated exhibition space.
Jointly established by the Shanghai municipal government and the BIE, the WEM is the only official museum and documentation center authorized by the BIE. Since its establishment in 2011, it has participated in five consecutive overseas EXPOS, serving as a unique platform to showcase Shanghai's global appeal, preserve EXPO heritage and promote international cultural exchange. ■
