KABUL, May 1 (Xinhua) -- More than 1,000 Afghan families returned to the country in a single day, highlighting the continued flow of returnees from neighboring countries, the official Bakhtar news agency reported on Friday.
According to the report, 1,015 families with 5,355 individuals returned to Afghanistan through multiple entry points from Iran and Pakistan.
Arrangements were made to transport them to their home provinces as part of ongoing efforts to support their reintegration and to cover their immediate needs upon arrival, the report added.
Officials said that coordination is ongoing among relevant institutions to ensure returning migrants receive necessary assistance, as the country continues to face significant humanitarian and economic challenges. ■
