SANYA, April 29 (Xinhua) -- Iran swept four golds in men's beach wrestling at the 6th Asian Beach Games on Wednesday.
The four golds came from Aliakbar Zaroudi in 70kg, Ali Gholami in 80kg, Amirhossein Kavousi in 90kg and Seyedamirreza Sahraeimahali in +90kg.
Sahraeimahali beat 2.13-meter-tall host wrestler Lu Da 3-0 in the final.
"He is more flexible and has stable and mature mind on the court, making me lose my momentum a little bit," Lu told Xinhua.
China's Lu Feng took bronze in men's 80kg, and his compatriot Li Peilong finished fourth in the men's 90kg category.
"As an indoor wrestler, I didn't adapt to the beach event very well. It was hard for me to push my rivals out of the line in the bronze medal match," Li said.
World champion Long Jia needed just 30 seconds to secure a 4-0 win over Vietnam's Dang Thi Linh in the women's 70kg final. After the win, 27-year-old Long run around the court in celebration, with the Chinese national flag on her shoulders.
"I was determined to show my strength. I didn't think too much about anything else. Yesterday's match was a warning for me. I realized I couldn't be too relaxed. I stayed focused and engaged after stepping on the court, and that's how I seized the opportunity," Long said.
In the women's 50kg competition, Nipuni Hewa Pedige secured Sri Lanka's first gold medal at the Asian Beach Games.
"This is my first international medal, and it is a gold medal, so I am enthusiastic about my win," said Hewa Pedige.
Also on Wednesday, China's Xie Mengyu bagged a silver medal in women's 60kg after losing to Pushpa Yadav of India in the final. Chinese wrestler Li Wenji secured bronze in women's +70kg, while India's Priya won the title. ■
