KATHMANDU, April 28 (Xinhua) -- Nepal's economy is projected to grow by 3.85 percent in the current fiscal year 2035-26 with most sectors of the economy seeing marginal growth in their outputs, National Statistics Office (NSO) said on Tuesday.
Releasing the National Accounts Estimate on Tuesday, the statistics body revealed Nepal's size of economy, which stands at 6,600 billion Nepali Rupees (43.70 billion U.S. dollars).
The government agency's estimate is far lower than the targeted growth of 6 percent initially in the current fiscal year but slightly higher than projections recently made by the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank.
In February, the Nepali government had itself reduced the growth projection at 3.5 percent, given that economic activities slowed after the public unrest in September last year. ■
