KABUL, April 17 (Xinhua) -- At least four people were killed and two others injured in a traffic accident in Aziz Kala area of eastern Afghanistan's Ghazni province on Friday, a local official said.
Ezatullah Saeedi confirmed the incident, stating that the accident occurred when two high-speed vehicles collided due to reckless driving earlier in the day. He added that the injured individuals were transported to the provincial hospital for medical treatment.
Deadly road accidents remain a persistent problem in war-torn Afghanistan, often attributed to deteriorating road conditions, reckless driving, and inadequate safety measures amid the country's challenging terrain and limited infrastructure. ■
