Kabul, April 5 (Xinhua) -- Afghan authorities have inaugurated six new schools with an investment of over 2.3 million U.S. dollars to improve educational access and quality in southern Afghanistan's Kandahar province, the official Bakhtar news agency reported on Sunday.
According to the report, the schools are expected to accommodate approximately 8,000 students across Arghandab district, representing a major step in the development of the region's educational infrastructure.
In addition to the educational development, a new water supply network has been set up in Kandahar city, the provincial capital, with an investment of 450,000 dollars. The project will provide clean drinking water to 600 households, enhancing the living conditions of residents and contributing to the overall development of the region. ■
