MOSCOW, April 3 (Xinhua) -- Seven people, including one child, were injured after seven carriages of a passenger train derailed in Russia's Ulyanovsk region on Friday.
According to Russian Railways, the derailment occurred at 6:26 a.m. Moscow time (0326 GMT) near Bryandino Station when the train was traveling from the city of Chelyabinsk to Moscow.
The cause of the accident was not immediately known.
Six ambulance teams have been dispatched to provide medical assistance to the injured, and over 100 personnel and multiple recovery trains are working on site to manage the aftermath of the derailment, according to authorities. ■
