ISLAMABAD, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's consumer price index (CPI) inflation stood at 7.3 percent year on year in March 2026, up from 7 percent in February, official data showed on Wednesday.
On a month-on-month basis, CPI inflation increased by 1.2 percent in March, compared with a 0.3 percent rise in the previous month, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
Urban inflation rose to 7.4 percent year on year in March from 6.8 percent in February, while rural inflation edged down to 7.2 percent from 7.3 percent, the data showed.
During the first nine months of the current fiscal year, average inflation stood at 5.67 percent, compared with 5.25 percent in the same period last year. ■
