ULAN BATOR, March 29 (Xinhua) -- The ruling Mongolian People's Party (MPP) nominated Nyam-Osor Uchral as Mongolia's new prime minister at the party's conference on Sunday.
Uchral, aged 39, is the chairman of the MPP and currently serves as chairman of the State Great Hural, the mongolian parliament.
The nomination follows the resignation of Prime Minister Gombojav Zandanshatar, who stepped down at his own request on Friday.
He is believed to have resigned due to internal disagreements within the party or in line with the convention that a chairman of the ruling party also serves as prime minister, according to local media reports. ■
