SEOUL, March 24 (Xinhua) -- Prices for goods and services among South Korean suppliers rose for the sixth successive month, central bank data showed Tuesday.
The producer price index (PPI) gained 0.6 percent in February from a month earlier, keeping an upward momentum since September last year, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).
The consecutive growth was attributed to expensive farm goods and a rebound in oil products prices.
Price for agricultural, livestock and fishery products among suppliers expanded 2.4 percent in February on a monthly basis after going up 0.7 percent in the previous month.
Producer prices for industrial products, including oil products, swelled 0.5 percent last month.
Prices for coal and oil products soared 4 percent in February, turning around from a decrease of 3.8 percent in the prior month.
Service price was up 0.6 percent due to higher costs for the finance and insurance service.
The price for electricity, natural gas and tap water added 0.1 percent in February compared to the previous month. ■
