HONG KONG, March 24 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 jolted Tonga Islands at 0437 GMT on Tuesday, the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 233.9 km, was initially determined to be at 18.57 degrees south latitude and 175.32 degrees west longitude. ■
