BAKU, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Iranian counterpart, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, on Monday stressed security in the Caspian region.
During a phone conversation, they discussed the regional situation and exchanged views on possible efforts to end the military escalation in the region, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
Bayramov reiterated Azerbaijan's expectations for finalizing the investigation into drone attacks on the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic launched from Iranian territory.
One drone struck the Nakhchivan International Airport at around midday on March 5, injuring two civilians and causing structural damage, while another drone fell near a school in the village of Shakarabad. Iran denied involvement in the drone attack. ■
