COLOMBO, March 16 (Xinhua) -- A fuel tanker carrying 38,000 metric tons of petroleum products arrived in Sri Lanka on Monday, with unloading scheduled to begin after inspection procedures at the Colombo Port, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation said.

The shipment consists of 18,000 metric tons of diesel, 17,000 metric tons of petrol, and 3,000 metric tons of super diesel. Authorities indicated that previously ordered fuel vessels are continuing to arrive in line with scheduled delivery timelines.

According to Mayura Neththikumara, managing director of the corporation, officials boarded the vessel earlier in the morning to examine fuel samples before commencing discharge operations. Fuel distribution to filling stations across the country has already been arranged.

The corporation also stated that steps are underway to address registration difficulties faced by users who were unable to enroll due to changes in vehicle ownership or mobile numbers. It also warned the public about fraudulent activity linked to the QR-based fuel distribution system, and advised users to register only through the official government portal.
