RAMALLAH, March 14 (Xinhua) -- A Palestinian man was killed and three others were injured on Saturday after Israeli settlers opened fire during an attack in the northern West Bank, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society and local officials.

The Red Crescent said four people were taken to hospitals, three with gunshot wounds and one with injuries from a beating. One of the wounded later died and was identified as Amir Moatasem Ouda, 29.

Local sources said a group of settlers attacked the outskirts of the village of Qusra, near Nablus, assaulting residents and opening fire. The injured were first taken to a nearby medical center before being transferred to Rafidia Governmental Hospital in Nablus.

There is no immediate response from the Israeli side.

Nablus Governor Ghassan Daghlas condemned the "bloody attack" and urged international action against ongoing settler violence.

Qusra village chief Hani Ouda said the attackers operated under Israeli military protection, firing indiscriminately at residents and homes. He said one victim remains in critical condition.

The incident comes amid a rise in settler attacks across the West Bank. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs says it recorded more than 1,800 such incidents in 2025, resulting in deaths, injuries, property damage, and the displacement of hundreds of Palestinian families.
