CHONGQING, March 13 (Xinhua) -- World No. 1 Sun Yingsha of China advanced to the women's singles quarterfinals with a straight-game victory over Adriana Diaz of Puerto Rico at the World Table Tennis Champions Chongqing tournament on Friday.

Sun needed just 25 minutes to secure an 11-5, 11-7, 11-5 victory.

"Actually we didn't play against each other many times before, but we sometimes trained together. I made more specific preparations for this match. Though I won in straight games, the match was quite excellent," Sun said after her win.

Sun will face compatriot Kuai Man in the quarterfinals. Looking ahead to the clash, Sun said, "I will continue to go all out and enjoy the match."

Other qualified Chinese female paddlers include Wang Yidi, Chen Yi and Shi Xunyao.

Wang saw off Liu Yangzi of Australia 3-0, while Chen went the full distance to edge Romania's Bernadette Szocs.

"I had prepared for five games," Chen said. "In the deciding game, I did better on rallies."

Shi emerged victorious 3-1 from an all-Chinese clash against Chen Xingtong.

In the men's draw, Germany's Qiu Dang came back from two games down to beat China's Liang Jingkun, 7-11, 6-11, 11-4, 11-9, 11-8.

"He's a phenomenal player, he's one of the greats. I think it depends on me, when I can reach my top level, a certain high level, only then can I compete with him," Qiu said.

"Somehow I'm also a player who is slow starting, time to time, but whenever I get a groove into the match, I feel more comfortable, I find solutions, and I feel my quality is good enough that I can make a comeback, and I'm happy I could make it today," he added.

Liang's teammate Zhou Qihao fell 3-1 to sixth seed Lin Yun-ju of Chinese Taipei.

Top seed Wang Chuqin and teenager Wen Ruibo are Team China's players remaining in the men's quarterfinals.

Both men's and women's singles quarterfinals will be held on Saturday, with the semifinals and finals scheduled for Sunday.
