MOSCOW, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Russia is ready to help reduce tensions in the Middle East, but a broad agreement is necessary, Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Tuesday.
"Russia is ready to provide assistance to the best of its ability and will be happy to do so. But you know that this requires a broad understanding and broad agreement, so we'll have to be a little patient," Peskov told reporters about Russia's stance on the Iran conflict.
Russian President Vladimir Putin offered his proposals to U.S. President Donald Trump during their phone conversation on Monday evening, he said, not giving details.
Putin and Trump's talks on the situation around Iran do not mean that the Russian president has become a mediator in a settlement, Peskov said. ■
