BAKU, March 9 (Xinhua) -- The Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers announced that Azerbaijan and Iran resumed freight transportation across their shared state border on Monday, ending a four-day suspension triggered by drone strikes on Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan exclave.

The government announced that the entry and exit of all types of freight vehicles, including those involved in transit, have been restored since 10:00 local time (0600 GMT) on Monday.

The cabinet imposed the closure on Thursday in response to drone attacks launched from Iranian territory.

According to Azerbaijani authorities, drones struck several locations, including the terminal building of Nakhchivan International Airport, while another drone fell near a school.

The incident left several civilians injured and caused damage to the airport infrastructure. Later, the Iranian side denied its involvement but pledged an investigation into the drone attacks.
