ZAGREB, March 9 (Xinhua) -- The Croatian government has evacuated 870 Croatian citizens and 101 foreign nationals from the Middle East as of Monday morning, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs said.
According to the ministry, the evacuation operations ensured the return of all Croatian citizens who had requested immediate departure from crisis-affected areas in the region.
Those evacuated also included foreign nationals from several countries, including Germany, Serbia, France and Slovenia.
The ministry continues to advise against all travel to the Middle East until further notice. ■
