TASHKENT, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Uzbekistan's annual inflation rose to 7.3 percent in February, marking the first increase since last July, according to the latest data from the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
The uptick was primarily driven by high growth in food prices, the agency noted, adding that the February figure represents a cooling compared to the same period in 2025, with annual inflation declining by 2.8 percentage points year-on-year.
In January 2026, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan projected that the inflation rate would stand at 6.5 percent by the end of this year. ■
