BEIRUT, March 3 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and two others wounded on Tuesday in an Israeli drone strike targeting a motorcycle in south Lebanon's Qabrikha municipality, the state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported.
The NNA said the attack was carried out by an "enemy drone" in the Marjayoun district.
Separately, the agency reported Israeli airstrikes targeting a commercial center in As-Saksakiyah and towns in the Nabatieh district. Drone overflights were also reported over Zahrani and neighboring villages.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah fighters claimed they had shot down an Israeli drone over the city of Nabatieh, according to the NAA. The group said the strike was a response to continuing Israeli attacks on dozens of Lebanese towns, including Beirut's southern suburbs.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Israeli military issued an evacuation warning for residents of about 80 towns and villages in southern Lebanon, signaling an expansion of its military operations in the region.
Israel said it was attacking both Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon. And its ground troops crossed the Israeli-Lebanese border and have been deployed at "several points." ■
