MANILA, March 3 (Xinhua) -- A helicopter crashed Tuesday morning in Rizal province, east of Manila, killing one person and injuring four others, a local official said.
In a social media post, Pililla town Mayor John Masinsin said the helicopter, carrying five people on board, including two foreign nationals, went down in the town shortly past 7 a.m. local time.
Masinsin said that of the four injured passengers, two were in critical condition while the other two sustained minor injuries. The injured were brought to a provincial hospital for medical treatment.
Police and emergency responders were immediately deployed to the crash site to conduct rescue and retrieval operations, the mayor added.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the crash as investigations are ongoing. ■
