SYDNEY, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Police in the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) have charged four men after seizing over 240 kg of cannabis in southern Sydney.
The NSW Police Force said in a statement on Thursday that detectives from a strike force investigating the cultivation of cannabis in Sydney executed a search warrant at a property in Miranda, 20 km south of central Sydney, and arrested men aged 51, 50, 41 and 36.
During a search of the home, officers located and seized approximately 240 kg of cannabis and seven cannabis plants with an estimated street value of 2.1 million Australian dollars (about 1.5 million U.S. dollars).
Another 3.3 kg of cannabis, as well as four firearms and cash, were seized during subsequent searches at two other southern Sydney homes.
Police said that investigations under the strike force are ongoing. ■
