ST. PETERSBURG, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- A military police building collapsed in the city of Sertolovo in Russia's Leningrad Oblast, with rescue operations underway, local authorities said on Tuesday.
Alexander Drozdenko, governor of the Leningrad region, said on his Telegram channel that debris removal and efforts to rescue those who were injured are in progress.
"I have instructed law enforcement agencies to assist the military in clearing the rubble and rescuing the injured following the collapse of the military police building on the territory of the military unit in Sertolovo," Drozdenko said.
Further details on casualties and the cause of the collapse have not yet been released. ■
