BEIRUT, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Four people were killed on Sunday night in an Israeli drone strike targeting a vehicle along the Lebanese-Syrian border in eastern Lebanon, Lebanon's official National News Agency (NNA) reported.
The sound of powerful explosions was heard in nearby villages close to the targeted location, the NNA said, adding that civil defense teams managed to extinguish the fire inside the vehicle and recovered the four bodies.
So far the Israeli army has not commented on the incident.
A ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel has been in effect since Nov. 27, 2024. Despite the agreement, Israel has continued to carry out occasional strikes in Lebanon, claiming they are aimed at eliminating Hezbollah "threats." ■
