DAR ES SALAAM, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan has advanced the country's economic diplomacy through a series of bilateral talks on the sidelines of the 39th African Union (AU) Summit in Addis Ababa, the Directorate of Presidential Communications said Sunday.
On Feb. 13, President Hassan met with Angolan President João Lourenço to discuss cooperation in trade, investment, and industrial development. Lourenço agreed to pay a state visit to Tanzania and serve as the guest of honor at the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) in 2026.
On Feb. 14, Hassan and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali discussed expanding ties in aviation and water resource management. The leaders noted their respective economic targets, with Ethiopia eyeing 10.2 percent growth and Tanzania projecting 6.5 percent.
On Feb. 15, the Tanzanian leader held talks with Comorian President Azali Assoumani on regional cooperation in tourism, maritime transport, and security. Assoumani thanked Tanzania for its support in healthcare and specialized medical services.
These engagements underscore Tanzania's growing role in regional development as it pursues its Vision 2050 goals, the statement said. ■
