SYDNEY, Feb. 11 (Xinhua) -- One child has died and another has been hospitalized after an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) rolled over on a rural property in the Australian state of Queensland on Tuesday, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported.
Emergency services were called after the vehicle that was being driven by a child rolled on a property near the small town of Chinchilla, 250 km west of Brisbane, around 6 p.m. local time on Tuesday.
A five-year-old girl who was thrown from the ATV was declared deceased at the scene.
A second child, a 9-year-old boy who was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident, was treated by ambulance paramedics before being taken to the hospital in a stable condition.
The Queensland Police Service said that officers from the forensic crash unit have commenced an investigation into the incident. ■
