KABUL, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and two others were injured when the roof of a shop collapsed in northern Afghanistan's Faryab province on Monday, according to a statement from the provincial police office on Tuesday.
The incident occurred in the Pashtun Kot district on Monday afternoon.
Similar accidents claimed two lives in western Farah and four others in northern Kunduz, respectively, over the past couple of weeks, following rains and snowfall.
Most residential houses in Afghanistan, particularly in rural areas, are constructed from mud, making them prone to natural disasters and vulnerable to rain and snowfall, occasionally resulting in loss of life and property damage. ■
