BANGKOK, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- A shooting incident with an explosion occurred in Bannang Sata District, southern Thailand's Yala province on Sunday, injuring one election security guard, according to Thai media reports.
Thai Public Broadcasting Service reported that the incident occurred at 4:35 p.m. local time, when a military patrol team responsible for election security was ambushed, resulting in one soldier being injured. Security personnel have cordoned off the scene to conduct an investigation.
Thailand held an election for the new House of Representatives from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time on Sunday. ■
