ALMATY, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan's total vegetable oil production in 2025 reached 888,800 tonnes, up 17.4 percent from 757,100 tonnes a year earlier, driven by a major expansion in oilseed crop cultivation, the Ministry of Agriculture said Friday.
Sunflower oil output totaled 757,200 tonnes, marking a 17.5 percent year-on-year increase, the ministry added.
Kazakhstan increased vegetable oil exports by 34.6 percent in the first 11 months of 2025 compared with the same period in 2024, the ministry said.
The main destinations for Kazakh vegetable oil exports were Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.
According to the ministry, Kazakhstan ranks eighth among the world's top 10 sunflower oil exporters and is also among the top three exporters of sunflower meal to European Union countries. ■
