YEREVAN, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan on Friday signed a decree scheduling Armenia's next parliamentary elections for June 7.

The decree concerns the formal calling of regular elections for the National Assembly, Armenia's unicameral legislative body, according to the document published on the official website of the Armenian president.

Armenia's prime minister is elected by the parliamentary majority and formally appointed by the president. The current prime minister, Nikol Pashinyan, has held the office since 2018.
