BEIJING, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- The 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the country's national political advisory body, held its 46th Chairperson's Council meeting on Friday.
Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, presided over the meeting and delivered remarks.
To ensure a sound start to the country's 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), Wang called for consultations and deliberations on the tasks outlined for the period, urging the proper implementation of the CPPCC National Committee's annual consultation agenda for 2026 and other plans for the political advisory body's inspection, research and democratic oversight work.
Wang also called for continued efforts to promote integrity, combat corruption and enforce discipline, with the aim of improving the political environment within the CPPCC system.
The meeting deliberated and approved a plan for the CPPCC National Committee's democratic oversight work, as well as documents related to the fourth session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee. It also heard a report on preparations for the upcoming session.
A group study session on work related to China's neighboring regions was also held during the meeting. ■
