PHNOM PENH, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia's two state-owned ports, Sihanoukville Autonomous Port (PAS) and Phnom Penh Autonomous Port (PPAP), had recorded a significant increase in revenue in 2025, said a Ministry of Public Works and Transport's report on Thursday.

The gross revenue of PAS, the kingdom's largest seaport, reached 151.5 million U.S. dollars last year, up 35 percent from 112 million dollars in the year before, said the report released during the ministry's annual conference.

The listed seaport handled 12.3 million tonnes of containerized cargos last year, a year-on-year rise of 25.7 percent, the report added.

Meanwhile, the listed PPAP, the country's second largest container hub, recorded a total revenue of 53.3 million dollars last year, up 23.6 percent from 43.1 million dollars in the year earlier, the report said.

The freshwater port accommodated 5.6 million tonnes of containerized goods last year, up 15.6 percent year on year, it added.

Speaking at the ministry's annual conference, Minister of Public Works and Transport Peng Ponea attributed the remarkable surge in both ports' revenues to the growing trade exchanges between Cambodia and the rest of the world.

He said the government has been carrying out various development projects at the PAS, aiming at "transforming this feeder port into a regional logistics hub."
