HANOI, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security has proposed giving each building and site a unique 12-digit identification code which can be accessed via the national digital identification app VNeID, local media VnExpress reported Monday.

Each code will contain essential data such as address, entry routes, postal code, coordinates, land-use information, current status and identifying features, with base data collected from datasets provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, said the report.

The location identification data will support logistics, e-commerce, product traceability and other services to bolster the digital economy, with socio-political organizations granted free access.

The ministry said the nationwide implementation is estimated to cost around 500 billion Vietnamese dong (about 19 million U.S. dollars) from the state budget.
