NIAMEY, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- Niger's military has said that more than 70 terrorists were "neutralized" across the country between Jan. 19 and 25, including over 50 killed in airstrikes targeting "enemy gatherings."
In a weekly bulletin broadcast Tuesday on state television Tele Sahel, the Defense and Security Forces said "48 suspects were also arrested as part of security and intelligence operations conducted on the ground."
The operations also led to the destruction of major enemy logistics, significantly reducing the armed groups' operational capabilities, the bulletin said. ■
