AMMAN, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) -- Jordan's King Abdullah II has ordered to develop a comprehensive strategy and roadmap to achieve a structural transformation of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) over the next three years, said a Royal Court statement on Saturday.
In a royal letter to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the JAF Yousef Huneiti, the king called for a force reshaped to meet current and future threats, rapid technological changes and expanding operational demands.
The directive stresses the mastery of modern warfare techniques, streamlined combat doctrines, and full preparedness for hybrid and unconventional conflicts.
King Abdullah II underscored the importance of investing and capacity-building in cyber defense and offense operations, as well as integrating drone and artificial intelligence technologies across all military units. He also called for strengthening reserve and logistical capacities, and stronger command, control and communications supported by research and development.
He requested the strategy and roadmap be submitted for immediate adoption and reaffirmed his full support for efforts to modernize the armed forces and enhance their readiness. ■
