PHNOM PENH, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia exported bicycles worth 609.3 million U.S. dollars in 2025, up 42.7 percent from 426.9 million dollars in the year before, according to the country's commerce ministry.

"Bicycles have become one of Cambodia's main manufacturing products for exporting to international markets in addition to garments, shoes, travel goods, and car tires," Ministry of Commerce's Secretary of State and Spokesperson Penn Sovicheat told Xinhua.

He said that the bicycles had been sold mainly to the European Union (EU), the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada, among others.

Thong Mengdavid, deputy director at the China-ASEAN Studies Center of the Cambodia University of Technology and Science, said the growth reflected strong manufacturing momentum and rising global demand.

"Growth is boosted by improved access to regional supply chains and expanding orders from key markets, particularly the EU market," he told Xinhua. "Bicycles are clean and green for the environment."
