BEIRUT, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed on Wednesday in separate Israeli drone strikes targeting vehicles in two districts of southern Lebanon's South Governorate, state media reported.
The National News Agency (NNA) reported that one strike occurred in the Sidon district and the other in the Tyre district, with each attack killing one person.
Lebanese security sources told Xinhua that the two dead were Hezbollah members, Mohammed Baker Youssef and Hussein Salameh.
Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee said on social media platform X that Israeli forces attacked on Wednesday morning a Hezbollah member in Sidon and another one in the southern area of Burj al Shamali.
Also on Wednesday, Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa met with visiting Lebanese Interior Minister Ahmad Hajjar, reaffirming Bahrain's firm support for Lebanon's sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, according to another report by the NNA.
Israel has frequently carried out strikes in Lebanon, claiming they are aimed at removing Hezbollah threats, despite a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah that took effect on Nov. 27, 2024. ■
