MOSCOW, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. attack on Venezuela constituted a "gross armed incursion" that left dozens dead and injured, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at his annual press conference on Tuesday.
"I have already mentioned how tumultuously this year began. We witnessed unprecedented events, a gross armed incursion by the United States into Venezuela that left dozens dead and injured, as well as the seizure and deportation of the country's legitimate president, Nicolas Maduro, and his wife," he said.
Lavrov also noted that the United States had issued threats against Cuba and other Latin American and Caribbean countries, as well as threats to destabilize Iran. ■
